According to a team official, Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal has passed a fitness test ahead of the upcoming second test against West Indies, Reuters reported.
“He felt fine batting in the nets and we think he is fit to play tomorrow,” team physio Vibhav Singh told reporters.
Tamim, who top scored in the first innings of the first test against Bangladesh and helped Bangladesh post 556, injured his elbow in the first Test in Dhaka and underwent the fitness test after a team training session in Khulna ahead of the second test starting on Wednesday.
Uncapped player Anamul Haque, was earlier called up by Bangladesh as a back-up for Tamim for the second test.
