Former Pakistan cricketer Moin Khan isn’t in favour of the Men in Green being ‘overly-friendly’ with the Indian team on the field. Moin believes that being too friendly with your arch-rivals is a sign of weakness. This massive statement comes just days before India’s clash against Pakistan in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy.

India and Pakistan will square off in the Champions Trophy on February 23 at the Dubai International Stadium. In the recent few meetings between the 2 teams, players from both sides have been quite friendly with each other on the field

“I just don’t get it when I watch Pakistan and India matches these days, as Indian players come into the crease, our players check their bats, pat them, have a friendly talk,” Moin said.

“Nowadays, our players’ behaviour when playing against India is unfathomable to me. Even off the field as professionals, you have to have certain boundaries,” Moin added.

The former Pakistan cricketer also revealed that during his time, senior players told him to not interact with the Indian players at all as if they will act in a friendly manner towards them, they will see it as a sign of weakness.

“Our seniors always told us that when playing against India give no quarter and no need to even talk to them on the field. When you get friendly, they see it as a sign of weakness,” Moin said.

“I think our players don’t understand this, but being too friendly is seen as a sign of weakness on the field, and you automatically come under pressure in your performances,” Moin added.
