Shah made his Test debut against India in 2006 at Mumbai, a full five years after making his ODI debut against Australia in 2001. He was unlucky never to enjoy an extended run in the ODI squad, and could perhaps have played more than just six Tests. In T20s, he remains an asset for any team he plays for, but much like Brad Hodge, is usually left out to accommodate “younger” players.
