Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday announced that the Pakistan Super League will resume from May 17th, while the final will be played on May 25th.
Taking to X, Naqvi wrote, “HBL PSL X picks up from where it left off. 6 teams, 0 fear. Get ready for 8 thrilling matches starting 17th May, leading up to the Grand Final on 25th May. Best of luck to all the teams!”
PSL 2025 was suspended last week following the rising tension between India-Pakistan. Meanwhile, the venues are not yet confirmed and will be released soon. The remaining eight matches of the tournament are likely to be held in Pakistan, as franchises are keen to wrap up the season quickly.
According to a report from ESPNcricinfo, On Monday, PSL officials met with franchise representatives to explore possible dates and venues for the upcoming matches. A major concern is the uncertain return of overseas players, with many unlikely to come back.
This disparity could disrupt team balance, as some franchises seem more optimistic than others about their international players’ availability. To tackle the issue, the PCB is reportedly planning a replacement draft to fill the vacant spots.
Additionaly the Bangladesh tour of Pakistan won’t be played as per the planned schedule. Bangladesh were scheduled to play five T20Is in Faisalabad and Lahore from May 25 to June 3.
