The Pakistan Super League (PSL) Draft was held at Islamabad on Tuesday with over 600 foreign and local players available for the draft. The six franchises were allowed to pick 20 players in their squads. Each franchise could pick three platinum, three diamond, three gold, five silver, two emerging and four supplementary picks.

There were plenty of big names in the draft such as AB de Villiers, Steve Smith, Chris Lynn, Brendon McCullum, Corey Anderson among others. Local players such as Shahid Afridi, Shaheen Afridi, Hussain Talat and Anwar Ali were also part of the draft.

Lahore Qalandars benefited from the draft as they bagged South Africa star de Villiers for the fourth season which begins on February 14. The Qalandars, who traded away Umar Akmal, added Pakistan veteran allrounder Mohammad Hafeez to their squad.

West Indies allrounder Kieron Pollard, who played for Karachi Kings and Multan Sultans in the past seasons, will play for Peshawar Zalmi next season. Quetta Gladiators drafted Dwayne Bravo with their platinum category pick.
