Pakistan vs Australia 2014: Misbah ul-Haq hits fastest fifty as Pakistan get 519-run lead at lunch on Day 4 of 2nd Test

Pakistan were 210 for 3, and had accumulated a lead of 519 runs at lunch on Day Four of the second Test match against Australia at Abu Dhabi on Sunday.

Younis Khan and Azhar Ali started the day on a cautious note, and accumulated the runs at a steady rate. Their partnership added 131-runs, before Steven Smith got the better of Younis Khan and dismissed him on 46. 

After Younis’ dismissal, Misbah ul-Haq came on to bat and was served a simple full toss first delivery, and he dispatched it for a wonderful boundary down the ground. Misbah continued to pile up the runs at a quick rate and hit Smith for 22 runs (three sixes and a boundary) in the space of four deliveries.

For Australia, birthday boy Mitchell Johnson didn’t impress, and bowled a wayward line. His first over was maiden, despite eight runs being scored from it. The runs were byes, as the balls went down the legside and could not be stopped by makeshift wicket-keeper David Warner.
