Azhar Ali  has reached his fifty. It has been a circumspect beginning by Pakistan. Azhar Ali brings up his half-century. Both Boult and Southee have tried to make the batsman play. Boult has consistently bowled from round the wicket and tried to swing it in. The pitch, however, has not afforded him a lot of swing. Southee on the other hand has stuck to a line outside the off-stump.

Azhar made a century in his last Test as well which he played against Australia. He’s threatening to add to that and looks good to do so. He’s been playing in a very determined manner and at this point the Kiwis would have a lot to do to get him out.
