Dec 12, 2014

Anton Devcich scored his maiden One-Day International fifty in the second ODI against Pakistan in Sharjah. He reached his half century of 54 balls. New Zealand openers had begun brightly in pursuit of the 253 Pakistan set them for victory. The duo of Anton Devcich and Dean Brownlie added 102 for the first wicket, and that in good time.

Earlier in the Day Pakistan opted to bat on a seemingly flat pitch. Despite being under the pump for majority of the innings they managed a challenging 252 on the board. Matt Henry and Mitchell Mcclenaghan were the pick of the Kiwi bowlers. Where as Mohammad Hafeez top scored with 76 for Pakistan.

Coming into the second ODI, Pakistan had made a solitary change to their line up from the previous game as Sohail Tanveer replaces Umar Gul. New Zealand on the other hand made as many as three changes with Corey Anderson getting a look in instead of Jimmy Neesham who has struggled with the Bat lately. Also Kyle Mills and Nathan Mccullum make way for Matt Henry and Mitchell Mcclenaghan. New zealand had opted for the horses for courses approach, expecting this pitch to assist seamers more than spinners.
