Ahmed Shehzad completed his ninth One-Day International (ODI) fifty in the third ODI against New Zealand at Sharjah. Shehzad’s fifty also coincided with Pakistan crossing the 100-run mark in the 19th over. An ideal platform has been laid from where to launch from by the Pakistan top Order. Shehzad’s innings has included six hits to the fence along the ground and two over it.

Shahid Afridi has assumed responsibility of leading Pakistan in Misbah’s absence. New Zealand have made multiple changes, as has been the pattern with the Kiwis over the course of the limited overs series. Adam Milne, Daniel Vettori and Dean Brownilie make way for Jimmy Neesham, Martin Guptil and Nathan McCullum. The addition of Jimmy Neesham will further bolster the New Zealand batting line up.

Pakistan and New Zealand have been neck and neck thus far. The Test series was drawn one a piece, so were the two Twenty20 Internationals and now the ODI series stands square at one all with three matches to go.
