Mohammad Irfan struck for the second time completing fifty One-Day International victims in ODI cricket. Irfan got rid of Martin Guptill to leave New Zealand tottering at 21 for two. Martin Guptill was dismissed for 12.

Earlier Pakistan batted first and put the Kiwi bowlers to the sword, in the process achieving the highest ever total in the history of ODI cricket at Sharjah. Ahmed Shehzad laid the foundation for the likes of Shahid Afridi to launch from. Shehzad scored 113 in 120 balls where as Afridi assualt of 54 came from a mere 24 balls. Corey Anderson got a hammering as he conceded a staggering 96 runs from his quota of 10 overs. Afridi took a special liking to Andersons’s bowling, carting him to all corners of the ground.
