Pakistan have extended their lead to 455 runs at the stroke of lunch on Day Four of the second Test match against West Indies which is being played at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi. Pakistan, resuming from 114 for the loss of one wicket, were 227 for the loss of two at lunch on the fourth day. Asad Shafiq was unbeaten on 58 and with him Younis Khan on 29 not out as Pakistan stretched their overall lead to 455 at Sheikh Zayed Stadium. Pakistan have lost just single wicket in the first session of the fourth day in the form of opener Azhar Ali who was sent back by Miguel Cummins as the bowler trapped the left-handed batsmen in his pads. Live Cricket Scorecard: Pakistan vs West Indies 2nd Test at Abu Dhabi

Azhar Ali who was unbeaten on 52 of the over-night score was batting very watchfully along with Asad Shafiq. The two scored runs whenever they could as they played risk-free shots whilst scoring runs and kept the scoreboard ticking with singles on regular basis.  Both batsmen were looking quite settled at the pitch but Azhar Ali departed completely against the run of play. But it never looked like the visitors could capitalise on the situation here as they had removed one set batsman. Younis Khan who had scored his 33rd Test century earlier in the first innings walked in to bat after Ali’s departure and he being one terrific of a batsman, looked solid and rigid against the dull looking West Indian bowling line-up. Having such a strong partner at one end, helped Shafiq gain some confidence and he started scoring runs in flurry. By the stroke of lunch, Shafiq had already got to his career’s 21st Test century and has Younis who is batting calmly at the score of 29.

West Indies have not been attacking and their bowling has looked pale and have lacked the necessary intent. Devndra Bishoo who had spun his web in the second innings of the first Test  by claiming 8 wickets has been wicketless in this match’s second innings. He has the figures of 20-0-77-0 which shows how much dull he has been even on the fourth day of the match.
