Pakistan and Zimbabwe will face off in the second of three One-Day Internationals (ODI) at Harare Sports Club (HSC) ground. The first match was won by the favourites Pakistan and very comfortably at that. Zimbabwe were outdone in each department thoroughly. Zimbabwe were really in the game just in the initial overs in the first innings when Pakistan’s top order collapsed. After that point Pakistan middle order batsmen repaired the damage and the final score went up to 259, which remains a highly competitive total in Zimbabwean conditions. Imad Wasim and Mohammed Rizwan scored good half-centuries. Zimbabwe’s bowling started off well but fizzled out towards the death overs. Zimbabwe’s pursuit of 260 was timid and one never got the impression that they were in the game at any point in their innings. The Pakistan fast bowlers softened them up and the spinners cashed in to dismantle Zimbabwe batsmen one by one. Yasir Shah took six wickets, while veteran Shoaib Malik chipped in with three and Imad Wasim picked one wicket. Zimbabwe were well short of the target, losing by 131 runs.
