Pakistan will not take Bangladesh lightly, says Azhar Ali

Pakistan newly-appointed One-Day International (ODI) skipper Azhar Ali said that his team will not take World Cup quarter-finalist Bangladesh lightly in the forthcoming three match ODI series, with the first match starting on Friday at Dhaka. Ali succeeded Misbah-ul-Haq, who led Pakistan to the World Cup quarterfinal before bowing out to eventual winners Australia. On the other hand, Bangladesh displayed a strong performance in the just concluded World Cup, where they reached their first ever quarterfinal after defeating England in the group stage before losing out to India in the last eight. Azhar said that Bangladesh’s performance in the World Cup was good and they looked a much-improved side in the tournament, the Dawn reported. Azhar also said that the Mashrafe Mortaza-led team was also tough in its condition, and therefore is in no way going to take them lightly. The ODI series will be followed by a Twenty20 International on April 24 and a two-Test series beginning on April 28.
