England Women beat Pakistan Women by a comprehensive 68 runs in the first T20I at Bristol on Sunday. England Women scored 187 for 5 in their first innings, which is their highest T20I score. Opener Tammy Beaumont continued her rich form from the One-Day International (ODI) series. Beaumont scored a 45-ball 74 and put on 147 for the opening wicket with Lauren Winfield, who scored 82 off just 53 deliveries.  But then England Women went through a bit of a collapse, but ensured that they got enough runs on the board eventually. England courtesy of this emphatic win lead the three-match T20I series 1-0. The second game will be played at Southampton in a couple of days’ time. Beaumont was once again awarded the man of the match for her swashbuckling innings. She said she hopes that she can carry on her form in the next couple of series as well. “I’ve reached a good vein of form and I’ve started to become ruthless and not give it away. Hopefully I can keep that going and take it into the winter in West Indies and Sri Lanka,” she said according to skysports.com.
