Kings XI Punjab pacer Parvinder Awana, has been selected in the India A squad to replace an injured RP for the tour to West Indies. Awana is one of the leading wicket-takers in the recent edition of Indian Premier League. Singh has been ruled out of from the tour due to a knee injury.
RP Singh who played for Mumbai Indians suffered an injury on his right knee and has been advised a week’s rest after which he’ll be under rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy. Singh’s selection for the tour was widely criticized as the former India bowler had an ordinary domestic season as he had taken only 14 wickets in seven Ranji Trophy games.
On the other hand, Awana will look to grab this opportunity to make an impact at the international level which could help him break into the national squad.
The India A team, led by Cheteshwar Pujara will play three four-day matches, three ODIs and two T20 matches.
