Patrick Cummins ready for Test cricket: Stuart Clarke

Former Australian bowler Stuart Clarke has praised his New South Wales team-mate, teenage bowling sensation Patrick Cummins, saying that the 18-year-old pacer is ready for Test cricket.

“If they pick him, he won’t let them down. He’d handle it fine. Everything we’ve seen from him shows he can play at that level and it’s just a matter of time. I think he’s a superstar,” Clarke told The Daily Telegraph.

Cummins impressed in his Twenty20 internaitonal debut for Australia, bagging three wickets for 25 in their five-wicket win on Thursday.

The report said that Cummins is capable of swinging the ball at speeds touching the 150 km per hour mark, and is tipped to be getting a Test cap soon.

Meanwhile, the boss of Sydney Sixers said he won t have any problem with Cummins being picked for Australia’s Test series against South Africa in November or home series against New Zealand and India.
