PBKS or MI- Which team will conquer the IPL 2025 Qualifier-2 in Ahmedabad? World cup-winning player Makes prediction
Aaron's prediction on PBKS vs MI IPL Qualifier-2 winner
Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Mumbai Indians (MI) will play the the Qualifier-2 match of the Indian Primer League 2025 at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Ahead of this tournament-deciding clash, former Indian pacer Varun Aaron believes that as per the pitch in Ahmedabad, Punjab might have an advantage.
While speaking at the TimeOut show in ESPNcricinfo, Varun Aaron said, ““I think the Ahmedabad surface, first of all, is going to suit Punjab. It’ll suit both teams, but Punjab more such because they rely heavily on both the openers. It’s good that they qualified in the top two they’ve gotten that one game out. Their young Indian contingent have seen a high-pressure, knockout kind of game. They know what it’s all about, what hey have to do and what they don’t have to do.”
“I’m sure Ricky Ponting has been in the year. Now they can reset and go into this game. Like Shreyas Iyer said after Qualifier 1, ‘They lost a battle but haven’t lost the war yet’,” he added.
Varun Aaron admitted that Mumbai were definitely the favorites in the match, but he also said that you can never underestimate Punjab, because this team performs more than its potential. Well, they had some time to overcome that disappointment. They need to focus on what makes them good this year. What is it that has made them a real threat throughout the year? And obviously, that is the performance of many of their uncapped players.
“It is all about the confidence and belief around them. If they do that on a good batting surface, there is no doubt they will be competitive. But, let’s face it, Mumbai are going to bounce back after a good performance in Chandigarh and in a way, they have washed away all the negative aspects of their season, be it personal or early defeats in the tournament. They are very good at finishing.” Varun said.
The match between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians is going to decide who will face Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the final. RCB had earlier secured themselves a direct place in the title deciding clash when they had beat PBKS in the Qualifier-1 clash on May 29.
