Indian team created history at the Dubai International Stadium, as they beat New Zealand on March 9 and lifted the Champions Trophy title for the third time. The tournament was hosted by Pakistan and the matches were also held in the country, with one of the semifinal, the final and all India’s matches held in Dubai.

During the presentation ceremony after India won the title, medals and blazers were awarded to the team. However, there was no representative from Pakistan at the podium during that time. This resulted in a dispute, and now the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is reported to take major step against this.

The ICC had officially stated that there were supplies for the PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi to be present at the stage for the presentation. However, when he did not show up for the ceremony, the ICC did not call any other PCB representative. Even though the CEO and Champions Trophy tournament director Sumair Ahmed Syed was present in Delhi, he was not called up on the stage.

Now, according to a report by PTI, the PCB is now going to protest against the ICC for not inviting Sumair Ahmed Syed to the ceremony after India won. Mohsin Naqvi is reported to not be satisfied with the reason that the ICC gave for not inviting the PCB officials.
