Peter Siddle happy to play second fiddle to Mitchell Johnson

Australian fast bowler Peter Siddle has insisted that he is happy to be a “second fiddle” to teammate Mitchell Johnson, whose ferocity and 12-wicket haul has led Australia 1-0 up against South Africa at Centurion Park.

Siddle and the rest of the pace bowling attack have been able to sail along in the left armer’s slipstream as bit part players supporting a compelling drama of success and are enjoying Johnson’s success as much as their own.

According to News.com.au, even though Siddle has gone virtually unnoticed, tying batsmen up as they attempt to swap from survival to scoring mode during the overs not bowled by Johnson, he is happy to see the left-arm fast bowler “on fire” for South Africa.

Siddle also said that the rest of them are supporting Johnson’s bid to do the same in the second Test.

He further said that along with Johnson, he can build a bit more pressure with the way he bowls to a certain plan rather than having to try to blast the batsmen out when he is not bowling with the pace sensation.
