Australian batsman Phil Hughes who was hit on head by a Sean Abbott bouncer during a Sheffield Game still continues to be in critical condition after the surgery.

According to a report in foxsports.com.au, Australian team doctor Peter Brukner who was with Hughes throughout the night revealed the news in the morning.

“Phillip Hughes remains in a critical condition in St Vincents hospital after being struck in the head while batting for South Australia against NSW at the SCG yesterday,” Dr Brukner said.

Hughes was in induced coma after he underwent surgery to relieve pressure on his brain after he was hit on side of the head by the lethal bouncer. The entire round of Sheffield Shield matches have also been abandoned.
