Sean Abbott, whose bouncer injured Phil Hughes during a Sheffield Shield encounter between South Australia and New South Wales, is receiving counselling after the incident which has left the player shaken. Beside the counselling, cricketers like Nathan Bracken and Dean Jones showed their support for Abbott who was simply doing his job and is just 22-years-old.
The entire cricketing world is rallying behind Hughes after the tragedy. Cricket Australia (CA) CEO Sutherland said in a press release, “Our thoughts and prayers are with Phil Hughes right now. We are also thinking of his family, team mates and friends in the Australian cricket family. His welfare is our highest priority. We’re also naturally concerned about all of those involved in today’s game and will be giving them our utmost support.”
