It was the year for West Indies cricket, firstly winning the Under-19 Cricket World Cup against India and on Sunday both men and women lifting the World T20 2016 trophy at Kolkata. Indeed it was an iconic moment for the Windies. West Indies Women won the match against three times defending champions Australia while the men won against England. The champions proved their worth yet again. The most match press conference was rather emotional as skipper Darren Sammy mentioned, whether he will ever receive an opportunity to play with the same team. Both the team skipper’s were seen posing with their respective trophy at Victoria Memorial, Kolkata on Monday morning. This was an important day for the Windies cricket and post their win, West Indies Cricket Board is all set to speak to the players for negotiations post Indian Premier League (IPL). This has got positive news along with their victories. West Indies Women on the hindsight have been successful in to reach the final spot and win it through with some phenomenal performance by Stafanie and Hayley Matthews to help them go past 149 total. While the men’s team had Marlon Samuels who led to them 4 wickets win and Carlos Brathwaite’s 4 sixes to put curtains to their marvelous show that every person was wanting to see more. England faced criticisms as well for their poor performance for the last spells and were equally applauded for the performance throughout the tournament and to come so far.

Both men and women team were seen dancing to the champions song and sharing their victory with each other.
