Jos Burns, who is making his One-Day International (ODI) debut for Australia today in the one-off match against Ireland, became their 207th cricketer in the yellow jersey. Steven Smith, who is going to lead the side for the first time as a full-time skipper, won the toss and elected to bat first after the start was delayed due to bad weather in Belfast. The official account of Cricket Australia tweeted a picture of Burns receiving the ODI cap while his teammates stood around, cheering for the young lad. The match has been shortened slightly to 47-over per side affair, with the interval shortened to accommodate extra overs following the delay that lasted for at least two hours.

 

Along with Burns first appearance, the players who have been recalled in the ODI sides are George Bailey, Mitchell Marsh, Pat Cummins and Nathan Coulter-Nile.
