Former batsman Mohammad Kaif has tweeted that he enjoyed meeting former teammate and friend Zaheer Khan and thoroughly relished the experience. He also took a trip to Khan’s personal gymnasium and worked out for some time. Mohammad Kaif was a former Indian right-hand batsman who was also a terrific fielder. He was present in the side which reached the finals of 2013 World Cup. Kaif doesn’t boasts of a very good record in ODIs and Tests but he did help India many a times when it was in danger. He is best known for match-winning knock of 88 runs (on 77 balls) in Natwest Series Final against England in 2002 when India chased down a mammoth 325 run target posted by the English. Kaif was also captain of India’s under-19 side which won under-19 World Cup in 2000. Kaif now 34, also contested for Indian National Congress in 2014 Loksabha elections from Phulpur in Uttar Pradesh. He lost to BJP candidate Keshav Prasad Maurya. Talking of Zaheer Khan, he has been India’s best fast bowler after Kapil Dev; and was part of the Indian side which won the 2011 World Cup. Khan also romanced actress Isha Sharvani for eight years. After 2011 World Cup Khan’s record dipped and it was seen that age was catching up with him. Selectors then preferred likes of Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Umesh Yadav and Ishant Sharma ahead of him. ALSO READ: Can Zaheer Khan still play international cricket?
