It is no news that India captain Virat Kohli has a special place for dogs in his heart. The dashing Delhi cricketer is often seen posting videos and photos of the fun time he spends with his companion, Bruno. Kohli is currently busy with Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 but managed time out of his busy schedule to visit CARE (Charlie s Animal Rescue Centre) a home for stray dogs in Bangalore on Sunday. While those associated with CARE where delighted, the gesture shown by Kohli proves his love for dogs is not limited to his own pet but for all. A post was shared from CARE s Facebook page with photos of Kohli busy interacting with the four-legged residents of the home. The authority wrote, It was simply unbelievable this morning to see Virat Kohli’s car pulling up inside the gates of CARE. His love for dogs is common knowledge, and the fact that we happened to witness it in its purest form was a wonderful, indescribable feeling. He met Dash at the reception, said hello to Captain, walked around the entire place, keenly listening to our Founder trustee Miss Sudha Narayanan and Dr Lohith talk about CARE. He met our adoption pups George and Snowy and said in no uncertain terms that rescued is his favourite breed. He hoped people would understand that it’s always better to adopt than to shop for a companion pet.

He also passively adopted 15 dogs at CARE and expressed that we choose those 15 that have special needs, that are paraplegic, blind and chronically ill. It was a magical day for us and we still are reeling from the sudden surprise and would love to thank our youngest volunteer Simone and her mum Meena and dad Avinash Vaidya to have facilitated this meeting.

We hope his presence and message will reach the humongous following that he has in our country and we are sure it will make a difference to innumerable lives of animals by this one gesture. We wish the man with a golden heart, Virat Kohli loads of luck on all his endeavours and thank him for making the world a better place for animals.

Kohli s Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), who ended IPL 9 as the runners up, are yet to find the sync this season, winning only one of their four matches so far. However, with Kohli joining only a couple of matches earlier, RCB fans can expect fireworks soon.
