Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi made headlines with a stunning step as he declared demonetization of INR 500 and 1000 notes. The motive behind this move was to curb the black money issue by suddenly announcing this from last midnight, that currency notes of INR 1000 and 500 will not be legal tender. People who have such notes, now have to deposit in the banks between November 10 to December 30. This news created a stir in the entire nation and citizens welcomed this step by PM Modi and appreciated it by accepting it with open heart. As said by PM Modi, the previous notes of INR 500 and 1000 will be ‘just worthless piece of paper’. ALSO READ: #BlackMoney: Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh, other cricketers tweet

Soon, people started coming up with trolls and hilarious memes on social media. Many also said that this is a surgical strike by PM Modi on black money. Many big names of the nation came forward and supported this step. One of them is current head coach of Indian team Anil Kumble, who tweeted and called this step as a massive googly by PM Modi. Beside Kumble, cricketers like Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh and others too tweeted. Sehwag tweeted in his typical style while Harbhajan got retweeted by PM Modi.

PM Modi was surely bowled over with Kumble’s praising tweet and replied him with delight and in his witty style by writing, “This coming from one of India s most admired cricketers, whose bowling caught many batsmen by surprise.”

This big step has been warmly welcomed by the people of this nation. Hope this step will help in curbing black money in the country.
