Poonam Yadav’s Pick- Player to watch out during India vs Sri Lanka face-off

Indian leg-spinner has shared her desire for Richa Ghosh to perform well well against Sri Lanka in their Women’s World Cup clash, adding that Richa will be looked out for in this clash.

During an interaction with Star Sports, when the Indian spinner was questioned to pick a player to watch out for in the India vs Sri Lanka group-stage match, she chose Richa.

“Richa Ghosh has always been my favourite player because whenever I have seen her bat, the way she bats, she is powerful, but you also need brains along with power and she has that,” Poonam said while speaking on Star Sports.

“She goes for big hits only when it’s required. Otherwise, she plays with singles and doubles. She is an expert in playing the cut shot. I want Richa Ghosh to perform splendidly,” Poonam added.

India had to face a 58-run loss to New Zealand in the opening clash of the tournament, but redeemed themselves as they beat their historic-rival Pakistan by six wickets. However, every game from now on is going to be a knockout match for the Women In Blue, and Poonam has a firm belief that Richa is going to be India’s pivot to win against Asia Cup Champion Sri Lanka.
