A big chance awaits thousand-maker Pranav Dhanawade as he is all set to visit England to play for Worli Cricket Club. Scheduled to be played at Leicestershire, Dhanawade will make appearance in nine matches. The stint is being expected to be good practice for the batsman as well as a Test of his skills. Dhanawade stole limelight as he made a record-breaking 1009 not-out in an official fixture. The innings came during the HT Bhandari school cricket tournament 2015 as he played for KC Gandhi Higher Secondary School against Arya Gurukul in the quarterfinal match in June last year. However, the batsman has failed to display any extra-ordinary performance since this innings and with the visit to England, he gets the ultimate chance to prove his mettle and establish himself as one of the future prospects for the senior national side of India. After his 1009 off 323 which included 129 fours and 39 sixes, all he has scored is a 74, a 156, a 40 and a 20 in the tournament. Dhanawade’s name again popped up in the news as he was not selected in the Under-16 squad of West Zone. The fact that Arjun Tendulkar, son of maestro Sachin Tendulkar, found a place in the squad helped the news grow big while later the air was cleared as it was learnt that the player was not eligible to take part in the tournament.
