Pranav Dhanawade to get bats named after him following unbeaten 1,009

After his record-breaking knock of an unbeaten 1009, Pranav Dhanawade is now all set to get a line of bats by his name. A bat manufacturing company in Meerut, whose bat reportedly Dhanawade used during his unbelievable feat, will be launching a line-up of bats that will have the wonder boy’s name and the runs scored by him on them. Stanford (SF) Cricket, the manufacturing company, has also mentioned that a big share of credit for that innings goes to their bat and will be launching the line-up by the upcoming month to mark the historic knock. According to a report in Times of India, during a match when Dhanawade was batting at some runs beyond 200, his bat broke and was provided a new bat manufactured by SF by his school coach Harish Sharma. “When Pranav’s bat broke, I got an SF bat from the school store for him. It was the same one with which he had practiced at school. He had always shown an inclination to play with that bat but because it was school property, we could give it to him earlier only for practice,” the coach was quoted saying.

Rachit Sareen, director of Stanford Cricket Industries revealed, “We are starting a line of bats with P-1009 printed on them, which stand for ‘Pranav’ and the runs he made. The series will be out by next month. “Pranav is an average student and has been practicing cricket since he was in Class V. I feel really proud that he is associated with our school. He was felicitated on Wednesday morning in the school assembly and will be further honoured in a function on January 9 and then in the first week of February,” said Dhanawade’s school principal Dhakane Sainath.

Dhanawade scored 1009 runs with the help of 129 fours and 59 sixes and remained not out while his team declared the innings at 1465/3.
