Gujarat Lions seamer Praveen Kumar has faced lot of ups and down in his cricket career. But after a fine domestic season with Uttar Pradesh and a decent tournament so far in the Indian Premier League (IPL) edition , the 29-year old known for his swing bowling, hopes that he can make a comeback into the Indian Cricket Team. He said – “I have been consistently doing well in all formats in domestic cricket, and I hope I will make it to Team India again one day,” Praveen has been consistent with his line and length in the IPL and now has 82 wickets, including 7 this season, in 109 IPL matches. The right-arm bowler also felt that he was feeling good about his fitness and is ready to fight it out for a place in the side. “I am 110 percent fit and bowling well. My duty is to play good cricket, it’s up to the selectors to decide my fate,” said Praveen. He further added – “I am a fighter and I have always fought it out on my own ever since I started playing.” (as quoted by HT)

Meanwhile, Praveen’s IPL team Gujarat Lions won their 13th match of the IPL 9 season against KKR, thanks to his teammate Dwayne Smith’s incredible bowling performance. Smith picked up figures of 4-8 in his 4 overs. KKR were restricted to a total of 124-8 in their 20 overs which GL chased down in just 13.3 overs with 6 wickets in hand. Captain Suresh Raina scored 53 off 36 balls to take his side to a victory in an important game after early hiccups. GL are now second on the IPL Points Table.
