The Konica Minolta Queensland Fire and Lendlease (NSW) Breakers have secured their spot in the 2016-17 Women s National Cricket League (WNCL) Final after the third and final round of the competition concluded today.

Queensland will host the final at Allan Border Field on Saturday 3 December after a Beth Mooney-inspired 29-run victory against Victoria yesterday earned the Fire top spot on the WNCL ladder and their first finals berth since the 2005-06 season, in which they finished runners up.

Having been released from the Commonwealth Bank Southern Stars squad to return to the domestic competition, Mooney compiled a blistering 146 from just 144 balls as the Fire posted an imposing 7-251.

Needing victory against the Abode Hotels Meteors in Melbourne today to secure their 21st consecutive finals appearance, NSW posted a competitive 8-201 with former Australian batter Rachel Haynes top scoring with 55.

With ACT requiring a bonus point victory to cause an upset and reach their first ever domestic 50-over final, Erin Osborne (78) and Angela Reakes (60) looked to have the Meteors within reach before a batting collapse had them all out 188.
