Bowling first, Lions restricted the ARCS to 149 for 8 with some very accurate bowling. Stand in skipper Bravish Shetty then anchored the Lions chase with a solid unbeaten 50-run knock to see his team home with 10 balls and six wickets to spare. The win lifted Lions to four points, same as the SoBo Supersonics and NaMo Bandra Blasters. Triumph Knights Mumbai North East are at the top the table with six points.

Lions always seemed to be in control of their chase as far as the run-rate was concerned. They looked slightly in trouble losing two wickets in quick succession to be reduced to 56 for 3. But a partnership of 50 between Shetty and Alpesh Ramjani in 40 balls ensured there were no further hiccups. Shetty finished the game in style, smacking Tushar Deshpande into long on stands, completing his third fifty of the tournament in the process. His 37-ball knock included three fours and two sixes. Some dropped catches didn t help the ARCS cause either.

ARCS Andheri were given a good start by Akhil Herwadkar, batting at No 3. The left-hander played some lovely shots to make sure the ARCS made good use of the Power-play overs. Herwadkar struck four fours and a six during his 27-run knock off 14 balls.

However, once ARCS lost both their openers and Herwadkar inside Power-play, the run-rate started to drop. Shubham Ranjane, Arun Yadav, and Parag Khanapurkar batted with caution as ARCS struggled their way to 100 runs around the 15-over mark.

Ranjane s 28 came from 30 balls and included two fours.Yadav s 23 came from 26 balls and included a four and a six. The duo added 49 runs for the fifth wicket from 44 balls but got out when they tried to cut loose. Sidharth Chitnis and Iqbal Abdulla gave the Arcs the much-needed momentum towards the end. Chitnis scored 23 off 14 balls, while Abdulla s 13 came from eight balls. The pair helped ARCS score 49 runs from the final five overs, helping their team to get near the 150-run mark.

Sagar Trivedi was the most successful bowler for Lions, finishing with figures of 3-34. Raunaq Sharma was equally impressive with his left-arm spin, finishing with figures of 2-23 from his four overs.

Brief score:

Arcs Andheri 149 for 8 in 20 overs (Shubham Ranjane 28, Akhil Herwadkar 27, Sagar Trivedi 3-34, Raunaq Sharma 2-23) lost to Shivaji Park Lions 150 for 4 in 18.2 overs (Bravish Shetty 50, Alpesh Ramjani 33, Hardik Tamore 27, Vaibhav Mali 1-14) by 6 wickets.
