A couple of months back, a video had surfaced which showed renowned preacher, spiritual leader and actor Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insan speaking about how he has trained famous cricketers and other sportspersons; motivating them to achieve dizzying heights in their respective fields. He spoke how he inspired Vijender Singh to his famous Olympic medal at Beijing Games in 2008, how he trained the current Indian Test captain Virat Kohli, speedster Ashish Nehra, opener Shikhar Dhawan and former Pakistan cricket team s captain and coach Waqar Younis to make a mark for themselves in the field of cricket. The video created a stir of sorts in media with scribes asking for the authenticity of the saint s claims.

The spiritual leader claimed to have the video evidence of the same and to make it public if and when the need would arise. Seems the time had come, as an old video which has recently been made public shows the multifaceted personality giving sermon to a gathering which includes Kohli and Nehra sitting in the first row, followed by Dhawan in the second row and other Delhi Ranji team players. The video looks like an old one as Kohli is looking pretty young, while other cricketers too are visibly younger. Watch it here:

His last video showed someone from the audience, presumably a journalist, asking him as to why these cricketers never acknowledge his role in their development? At that point, the preacher had said he does not care whether they do so or not, but he has sufficient video evidences of the same. He had disclosed how a young Kohli would come to him to seek his help. This video has proved the same. Gurmeet Ram Rahim continues to drive his social initiatives through his socio-spiritual organisation Dera Sacha Sauda (DSS). His workds such as cleanliness campaigns, blood donation drives, tree planting, disaster relief et al have brought him and his organisation a good name.
