The Pakistan Super league clash between Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi has been rescheduled after Indian Armed Forces targeted the Air Defence Radars and systems at a number of locations.
PCB officials have asked to shift the all the remaining matches to Karachi, Doha and Dubai. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Wednesday that the PSL would continue as scheduled despite escalating tensions and India’s recent attack. However, the circumstances have quickly changed.
“A PSL match in Rawalpindi was cancelled following an attack, leaving foreign players in deep shock. The match was tonight. Many are now seeking to leave the country as soon as possible. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will decide after consulting with the government,” a former Pakistan cricketer told IANS.
In the early hours of May 7, India carried out precision strikes on nine major terror camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), as a retaliatory move following the brutal terrorist attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 people, 25 Indians and one Nepali citizen.
As per reports in the Pakistani media, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has scheduled an urgent meeting with PSL franchises on Thursday at Lahoreâs Gaddafi Stadium to explore possible ways to conduct the remaining matches of the Pakistan Super League.
A report by Geo Super states that, given the current situation in the country, the PCB is evaluating multiple options to ensure smooth conduct of PSL 10 and the upcoming home T20I series against Bangladesh.
