Punjab defeated Himachal Pradesh by two wickets in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Twenty20 tournament at Gurgaon on Friday.

Punjab invited Himachal to bat first after winning the toss.

Siddharth Kaul proved to be the star performer of the day, picking up four wickets to help Punjab bowl out Himachal for 100 in 19.5 overs.

Rishi Dhawan top-scored for Himachal with 31 runs that came off 33 balls, and included four boundaries.

Chasing a rather easy target, Punjab lost wickets at regular intervals but scored at an good pace to get the better of Himachal.

Punjab scored the required 101 runs in 9.4 overs losing eight wickets.

Amitoze Singh made 15 runs in six balls with the help of two boundaries and a six.
