Vaibhav Suryavanshi century
When Vaibhav Suryavanshi is at the crease, fireworks are guaranteed. In the Under-19 match between India and South Africa, Suryavanshi once again showed why thereâs already talk of including him in Indiaâs T20 team. On Wednesday, in the third ODI of the series, he played a blistering innings of 124 runs off just 74 balls, hitting nine fours and ten sixes.
Suryavanshiâs opening partner, Aaron George, also scored a century, helping India post a massive total of 393/7 in 50 overs.
Explosive opening partnership
South Africa won the toss and elected to bowl first. Aaron and Suryavanshi opened the innings, but their approaches were different. While Aaron played a steady innings, Suryavanshi unleashed his usual aggression, reaching his century in just 63 balls. The duo added 227 runs for the first wicket in 25.4 overs, with Suryavanshi hitting more sixes than fours. After reaching his milestone, he celebrated like the protagonist in the movie Pushpa.
Following Suryavanshiâs fireworks, Aaron George reached his own century, scoring 118 runs off 106 balls with 16 fours. When Aaron was dismissed, Indiaâs score was 279/1 in 34.5 overs. Despite these two stellar innings, the rest of the lineup struggled to make a significant impact. Vedant Trivedi scored 34 off 42 balls, while Mohammad Enan contributed 28 runs off 19 balls, hitting one four and two sixes.
India continue series dominance
India had already won the first two matches of the series. Suryavanshi shone in the opening match with an unbeaten 68 runs, but had a modest outing in the second, scoring only 11 runs. His third-match performance ensured India continued their dominant run in the series.
