Quadri, Sandeep's fifty guides Hyderabad to 373

Ahmed Quadri’s knock of 77 runs came in 147 balls and was studded with eight boundaries

Half-centuries by Ahmed Quadri (77 not out) and B Sandeep (61) helped Hyderabad post 373 for the loss of seven wickets against Jharkhand on the second day of their Ranji Trophy plate league match on Friday.

Resuming at the overnight score of 129-1, Hyderabad added 244 runs today, with Quadri and Kanishk Naidu (1) remainging unconquered at the close of play.

Quadri’s knock came in 147 balls and was studded with eight boundaries. Sandeep too hit the same number of fours in his 126 ball vigil.

Earlier, skipper D B Ravi Teja, who was unbeaten on 59 runs, added another 14 runs to his tally before he was trapped in front of the stumps by pacer Shiv Shankar Rao.

The other overnight batsman G H Vihari, unbeaten on eight yesterday, was dismissed on 24.

N Arjun Yadav too made an important contribution of 43 (138b, 4×5) for the hosts.

For Jharkhand, Shahbaz Nadeem scalped three wickets, including the crucial wicket of Sandeep, while conceding 126 runs. Rao, Yajuvendra Krishnatry, and Rahul Mishra claimed a wicket apiece.

Meanwhile, in a statement issued here, the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) said that T Suman has been included in the Ranji team in place of Ashish Reddy, who has been asked to represent the team’s Under-22 side. (PTI)
