Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar has praised the Indian cricket team for their dominating series win over West Indies as they completed a 2-0 clean sweep on Monday. Chasing 468 to win, West Indies were bowled out for 210 on day four as India won by 257 runs, finishing the tour unbeaten.

They had earlier beaten West Indies 3-0 in a T20I series before pocking a three-match ODI series 2-0.

In the second Test that concluded on Monday, Jasprit Bumrah‘s hat-trick made the headlines after Hanuma Vihari scored a maiden century in the format. Also returning to form was middle-order batsman Ajinkya Rahane who scored a century in the first Test in Antigua.

Tendulkar feels the maturity and patience exhibited by the duo of Rahane and Vihari is a positive sign for the top-ranked India. “Lovely batting by Hanuma Vihari to get to his first 100. Also very good to see Ajinkya Rahane get back in form. The maturity and patience they have shown is a good sign for the Indian Test team,” Tendulkar posted on his official Twitter handle after India’s victory.

In another tweet, Tendulkar praised Bumrah for the way he has developed his game in the longest format since making his debut last year in January. “Congratulations to Team India on a fabulous series win. It’s been a joy to watch Jasprit Bumrah in this series. His hat-trick was special and the progress he has made in Test cricket has been absolutely terrific,” he wrote.

With the win, India have maintained their top spot in the ICC World Test Championship with 120 points.
