Paras Dogra knocked the stuffing out of Goa bowlers en route his superb unbeaten 208, which powered Himachal Pradesh to a mammoth 543 for five in their Group C Ranji Trophy match in Dharamsala on Monday.

Dogra apart, skipper Rishi Dhawan, Abhinav Bali and Bipul Sharma scored half-centuries on day two, to bolster Himachal’s total.

At stumps, Bipul was giving company to Dogra at 86.

Resuming on overnight 136 for two, the 28-year-old Dogra smashed as many as 26 boundaries, 18 of them coming today, and one six during his unconquered 344-ball stay at the crease.

During his knock, he shared 142 runs for the third wicket with Bali (73), 160 runs for the fifth wicket with Dhawan (89), before adding another 132 for the sixth wicket with Bipul.

While Bali found the fence 12 times, including one six, Dhawan’s knock was laced with 15 fours.

Such was the Himachal Pradesh batsmen’s onslaught that all the frontline Goa bowlers conceded more than 100 runs, with spinner Shadab Jakati conceding 132 runs in his 30 overs.

He, though, picked up two wickets, including that of Bali.

Medium pacer Saurabh Bandekar went for as many as 141 in his 26.

There was no respite in sight for the visiting side as their bowlers were sent on a leather hunt from the outset on Day 2.

Dogra, undoubtedly, was the one who was spearheading the Himachal batting and the others rallied around him to help the side maintain a healthy run rate of over four almost throughout the innings.

Brief scores:

Himachal Pradesh 543 for 5 (Paras Dogra 208*, Rishi Dhawan 89, Bipul Sharma 86*; Shadab Jakati 2 for 132) vs Goa
