Maharashtra need 252 runs to beat Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy 2013-14 quarter-final at the Wankhede Stadium. After bowling Maharashtra out for 280 and taking a 122-run lead, Mumbai stuttered and were bowled out for 129.

Early on, Wasim Jaffer was dismissed for a duck and then Kaustubh Pawar was caught in the slips as they went into tea at 17 for two.

The afternoon session started with Vineet Indulkar edging one from Anupam Sanklecha. Then, Abhishek Nayar was caught at second slip off the very first ball as Sankecha moved it away from him. Later, Samad Fallah had Aditya Tare chase a wide one and was caught at second slip.

Iqbal Abdulla and Suryakumar Yadav had a recovery as they put up 48, playing positively along the way. However, Abdulla’s aggressive streak got the better of him as he edged Shrikant Mundhe to the slips. Yadav was then trapped plumb in front to leave Mumbai at 88 for seven at tea.

Shardul Thakur continued to fight and essayed a few big strokes, but ultimately, Mumbai were bundled for 129.
