Jan 8, 2014
After losing three quick wickets in the morning session, Mumbai batsmen consolidated in the post-lunch session to take their score to 176 for the loss of four wickets against Maharashtra in their quarter-final fixture at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Making a comeback into the Mumbai line-up, Vinit Indulkar held his ground and is 42 not out by the end of the tea session. He was ably complemented by SuryaKumar Yadav, who brought up his half-century in quick time. He is not out on 53, and has shared a healthy 75-run partnership with Indulkar so far.
Samad Fallah has been the pick of the bowlers so far for Maharashtra by picking up two wickets.
A couple of quick wickets after tea can shift the balance of the match towards Maharashtra, whereas, if Indulkar and Yadav carry their partnership forward, Mumbai will start eyeing a big first innings score.
Brief scores:
Mumbai 176 for 4 (Suryakumar Yadav 53*, Wasim Jaffer 44, Vinit Indulkar 42*; Samad Fallah 2/43) vs Maharashtra.
