Match resumed in evening after most of it was lost to rain in the morning and afternoon. Vizianagaram experienced moderate drizzle for a large part of this match and this game may well head towards a draw if batters of both the teams score huge runs. Andhra have scored 213 runs for the loss of four wickets. Sandhu has emerged as the best bowler having picked three wickets giving just 45 runs. K S Bharat, Prashant Kumar and A G Pradeep did not cross single digits. However, Mohammad Kaif and Ricky Bhui played brilliantly. Bhui’s century comprised of 12 fours and one six. Mumbai will look to post a challenging total and if possible a match-winning total if the lower-order batters play well. Talking of Kaif, his knock was patient and he played his shots both on the off and on side, he is not finished yet. He only played scoring shots on bad deliveries and this shows his tremendous powers of concentration on show in this match. Kaif is batting on 89 and has faced 311 deliveries scoring a run lesser than every third ball faced on an average. It will be interesting to see Kaif’s fielding when Mumbai come to bat. Kaif is considered a very good ground fielder and his fielding has only improved with time. At this moment, Ashwin Hebbar needs to give Kaif good support if Andhra want to reach 400 run mark. Andhra’s scoring rate has been low— 2.01 runs per over. Ayyappa Bandaru and Stephen who are yet to come are the only recognised batters to come, this increases Kaif’s responsibilty to take Andhra to a respectable total.
