Rajkot: Ravindra Jadeja returned with a sensational seven-wicket haul as Saurashtra notched up a convincing 35-run win over Hyderabad on the second day of their Group C Ranji Trophy match at the SCA stadium. Jadeja, who has been recalled into India’s Test squad for the upcoming series against South Africa, had snapped six for 75 yesterday and he followed it up with a brilliant seven for 60 to help Saurashtra register their third successive wins. With this win, Saurashtra grabbed six points from the match to top Group C with 19 points from three wins in as many matches. After an exciting opening day which saw two stunning batting collapses, the second day of the match saw Saurashtra post 215 all out in 67 overs in their second innings to set Hyderabad a victory target of 170 runs. Chirag Jani (65) was the top-scorer for Saurashtra even as Hyderabad’s M Hassan (5 for 69) and Vishal Sharma (4 for 84) returned with brilliant hauls.
However, Hyderabad’s runchase was derailed by Jadeja, who struck right from his first over, as the visitors folded for 134 in just 40 overs at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium. Apart from Jadeja, Kamlesh Makvana (2 for 28) and Dharmendrasinh Jadeja (1 for 22) were the other wicket takers for Saurashtra.
