Deepak Bansal’s 4-for helped Railways restrict Tamil Nadu at just 121 in the Round 2 of Ranji Trophy 2016-17 at the Lohnu Cricket Ground, Bilaspur. Winning the toss, Railways decided to bowl first and their bowlers were right on mark to get rid of the whole Tamil Nadu team for just 121. Apart from Bansal, Manjeet Singh scalped three wickets sharing the load of getting wickets. Malolan Rangarajan remained the top scorer for Tamil Nadu as he scored 36 runs off 50 balls. Opener Abhinav Mukund remained the second best run scorer for his team as he scored 22 off 65 balls.

Railways have had a decent start to their innings, as they have accumulated 87 runs for the loss of three wickets. Mrunal Devdhar was the top scorer for Railways as he scored 47 off 82 deliveries. Railways have V Cheluvaraj and Arindam Ghosh on the crease who will have to play maturely to make sure that they surpass the total posted by Tamil Nadu and that they go on and put a big score by the end of their first innings. Krishnamoorthy Vignesh, T Natarajan picked up one wicket each for Tamil Nadu.
