Services got to a good start against Andhra on Day One as they play in Round 5 of Ranji Trophy 2016-17. Playing at Holkar Stadium, Indore, Services won the toss and elected to bat first. Anshul Gupta and Soumik Chatterjee opened the innings for Services but the partnership did not last for long. Chatterjee departed soon with an individual score of 12, which brought Ravi Chauhan at the crease. Chauhan followed Chatterjee for a duck as Services lost wickets off consecutive deliveries. Gupta and Shamsher built the first big partnership for Services. Gupta scored his half-century while the two together brought up team’s 100 runs. The team reached the mark of 150 runs and Shamsher scored his half-century. Gupta departed for 72, being lbw off a Ravi Teja delivery. Shamsher remained unbeaten at 60 at stumps along with Vikas Yadav who is batting at 9. The two will bat for Services as they resume batting at 170 for 3 on Day Two.

Bowling for Andhra, Stephen remained the most successful bowler, bagging 2 wickets for 35 runs while Ravi Teja got a solitary wicket. Services are currently at the bottom of the Group C table as they failed to win any matches in the tournament this season. Andhra are currently at the second spot with two victories from four matches.
