Mysore: Mumbai held a slight advantage against Railways at stumps on day two after a gritty 110 from Suryakumar Yadav in the Ranji Trophy Group A match. Mumbai, resuming at an overnight 244 for 5, went on to score 345 courtesy Yadav, who started the day on 60. Captain and leg-spinner Karn Sharma led from the front for Railways, adding two wickets to his overnight tally to complete a five-wicket haul. Railways felt the heat in their first innings. They lost their three top-order batsmen to end the day at 76 for three in 45 overs. The star of the day was Yadav, who collected 11 fours and a six in his 270-ball effort. On Day One, Mumbai opener Akhil Herwadkar had missed out on a century by four runs. Before this game, Mumbai had 12 points from three games, with a win and three draws so far. Railways on the other had lie at the bottom of Group A with one draw and three losses from their four matches so far. Railways will first try to wipe out Mumbai’s deficit, but Mumbai will be keen to bowl Railways out as early as possible on Day Three and add to their tally of wins. Vijay Gohil, playing just his fourth match for Mumbai will look to add to his tally of two wickets. Mumbai also have the likes of Shardul Thakur and Balwinder Singh to get them those crucial wickets on Day Three.
