Winning the toss, Kerala have held Haryana for the score of 228 for the loss of 8 wickets at Stumps on Day One of the Round 5 of the Ranji Trophy 2016-17 match which is being played at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. Wicketkeeper-batsman Rohit Sharma is unbeaten on 51 from 135 deliveries having scored 7 boundaries. Haryana got off to a bad start as they lost their first wicket with just 9 runs on the board. Since then they kept on losing wickets at regular intervals which lead to their downfall. Apart from Sharma Mohit Hooda was the second best run scorer as he scored 30 runs from 62 balls. Barring Sharma and Hooda no other Haryana batsmen could cross the border of 30 runs. Sanjay Pahal is currently batting at 24 off 40 balls with 5 cracking boundaries.

Both Sharma and Pahal have put 39 and will definitely look to extend their partnership as much as they can as they are currently under the shadows of getting bowled out well before 250. Kerala, on the other hand, will be expecting their bowlers to fire out against the opposition again and get the remaining wickets soon and display some good batting to maintain their dominance on Day Two as well.

Brief Scores:

Haryana 228 for 8 (Rohit Sharma 51*, Mohit Hooda 30; Sandeep Warrier 4 for 59) vs Kerala
