Haryana came out fighting and put up a solid total of 502 in the first innings riding on Rajat Paliwal’s splendid 194 runs knock in the first innings. Paliwal played with unmatched confidence and continued his good run on Day 2 and helped his side to post a massive total. There were other useful contributions from Nitin Saini, who played a good knock of 90 runs while Rohit Sharma chipped in with 51. Sanjay Patel garnered some valuable runs lower down the order as Haryana posted 502 runs on the board. Parvez Rasool bowled well and chipped three wickets Samiullah Beigh, Aamir Aziz had one scalp each to their name. It was some serious batting by Haryana on a batting friendly surface. Jammu & Kashmir had a task in hand to compete with such a massive total. They got off to a shaky start as Umar Nazir was dismissed for a duck by Sanjay Pahal. SHubham Khajuria and Pranav Gupta weathered the early storm adn ensured their side didn’t lose a wicket further. Khajuria remained unbeaten on 48 while Gupta had 25 runs to his name at stumps on Day 2. Jammu & Kashmir confronted 24 overs in the day and lost a solitary wicket but have a massive task in hand when they take the field on Day 3. Their batsmen need to step up and try to get as close as possible to Haryana’s total.
