Goa post a target of mammoth 606 for Services to chase as the team play in Round 3 of Ranji Trophy 2016-17. The team had a great start to their innings with two of their top-order batmen scoring centuries. Skipper Sagun Kamat remained unbeaten at 177 while opener Amonkar scored 101. Kamat went on to score an unbeaten 304 as he declared team’s innings with 606 for 6. The middle-order batsmen also put up a decent performance with the bat but it was the leader who stole the show with his outstanding performance to help his team with a huge score and get in the driver’s seat. Kamat hit 39 boundaries in total as he played the magnificent innings. Snehal Kauthankar and Darshan Misal both contributed with personal scores of 45. Losing a wicket early, Goa were in big trouble but the partnership between Amonkar and Kamat became the match-saver as it provided the innings with stability and added the crucial runs.

For Services, Diwesh Gurdev Pathania emerged as the highest wicket-taker with 3 wickets. Khalid Ahmad bagged a couple of wickets while Sachidanand Pandey got a solitary wicket. But the bowlers failed to maintain a good economy.

Chasing the target, Services lost an early wicket as Aanshul Gupta departed for 4. Soumik Chatterjee is batting at 8 and Ravi Chauhan is batting at 27 for the Services as they have 39 for 1 at stumps of Day Two.
