After breaking into Baroda on Day 1 for 93, Tamil Nadu were bundled out for 337 on Day Two of Round 5 of Ranji Trophy 2016-17. Munaf Patel s 4-for and Yusuf Pathan s two wickets were enough to bring Tamil Nadu down to 337. However, Tamil Nadu provided fitting reply to Baroda s bowling expertise with Abhinav Mukund s century along with Bab Indrajith and Dinesh Karthik s centuries. After the wicket if N Jagadeesan, the rest of the tea crumbled for single digits. Baroda began their second innings and their opening batsmen have put up 44 runs on board with contributions from Kedar Devdhar and Dhiren Mistry of 33 and 9 respectively. On Day One, Krishnamoorthy Vignesh tore into the Baroda batting line in accordance with his fellow teammate Aswin Crist. Vignesh and Crist in tandem with the later were nabbing all the middle order batsmen. Crist picked up wickets of Vishu Solank, Pinal Shah, Yusuf Pathan and Swapnil Singh in a span of 2 runs. Vignesh started the collapse nabbing Mistry for 23, had also picked up the wicket of Devdhar. Vignesh added 3 more wickets to complete a spell of 5 for 23 which included Soaeb Tai, Murtuja Vahora and Munaf Patel. Baroda were all-out for 93 runs.

Tamil Nadu began their game and ended at 79 for 1 as they lost the wicket of Kaushik Gandhi, who added 36 runs stand along with Mukund for opening wicket. Mukund remained not-out on 40, while Indrajith remained not out on 18 on Day One.
